To engage young business professionals in volunteer opportunities, public policy and government.

Civic Engagement will take a variety of forms from hosting events for local officials to address topics important to young business professionals, to providing an assortment of volunteer opportunities. The Chamber Rising Professionals will ensure that its members have a hand in building the Colorado Springs community.

Throughout the year, the Chamber Rising Professionals will be working to provide City and County board opportunities to our members. This will allow young business professionals to experience first hand the issues that business leader’s face and allow them to help develop solutions to these issues.

The Chamber Rising Professionals (CRPs) are proud to announce a new program:

Adopt-a-Non-Profit!

The CRPs group of over 250 members will be adopting a local non-profit during 2010 to help support their cause.

MosaicThe 2010 Adopt-a-Non-Profit is Mosaic! Mosaic’s Mission: “In partnership with people who have disabilities, Mosaic provides supports and advocates that all may realize God’s gift of wholeness of life.” Mosaic is a faith-based organization serving people with intellectual disabilities. They believe that every individual is a person of worth. Together Mosaic staff members, volunteers and the people we support work as partners. Mosaic supports more than 3,500 with more than 5,000 employees in 40 agencies comprising more than 250 communities in 14 states.

CRP VolunteersThere will be opportunities during the year to hear an update from Mosaic on their progress towards their year end goals and current activities. Each quarter, the CRPs will organize small volunteer events to help with projects. At the end of 2010, the non-profit will provide one final update at the CRP Big Event in November. Below are the dates for the volunteer activities.
